Reverse Aging Skin

How to Stop and Reverse Aging Skin Problems

Isn’t getting older frustrating! – It suddenly hits you that you can’t do things as easily as you once could. Unfortunately, this applie s not only to your mind and body, but affects your skin as well.

The good news is there’s something you can do about it!

Firstly keep your mind active and exercise your body – you’re only as old as you think you are!

As far as your skin’s concerned there are some great new skin care creams that can address aging skin problems.

A good quality natural aging skin treatment cream should contain ingredients that can positively affect many skin issues. Look for an anti aging skin cream to include anti-oxidants, emollients, vitamins and minerals that can moisturize and hydrate your aging skin.

There are now unique skin care products available that go one step further and include substances that can help remove your fine lines and reduce deep wrinkles.

Probably the three most annoying problems with aging skin are deep wrinkles, thinning of the skin and age spots. Very few older people miss out on getting them, including myself. However, I am taking positive action to try and reduce my deep wrinkles and strengthen my skin.

I have been using a new skin cream for over two months now that includes ingredients capable of generating new collagen and elastin skin cells. If you know anything about skin, you’ll realize how vitally import these proteins are for your skins health. In fact, along with keratin they account for over 30% of your body’s proteins.

Therefore, if you want to thicken and strengthen your thin aging skin and reduce wrinkles at the same time, you should consider using one of these unique skin creams like I do.

I won’t go into ingredient detail now, because there are too many to discuss in this short article. However, at my website you can learn all about these fantastic new substances, that I find make a real difference to my aging skin problems.

advice on skin repair from tanning?
my face was already not in the greatest condition, but now that im tanning for prom, the burning is really taking a toll on my only 17and my face is droopy and discolored, red and irritated. i’ve tried using vitamin E lotion to help repair, but it doesn’t seem to help. what is a good product i can try to help prevent (or reverse) aging due to tanning? thanks!

    • aliceapplepie says:

If you are only 17 then your natural collagen will replenish itself soon enough so any damage will not be long lasting. Just don’t in the tanning bed so long that you are burning your skin. If your face is quite sensitive then just tan for one or two minutes before covering it with a towel or something similar to prevent burning.

My skin is starting to get dry I’m 49 What collagen or if any other product can I use for this cause of aging
I ve always been treating my skin especially my face, but Ive noticed now that it’s getting to be more dry. Can anyone suggest me what should I drink and what product to apply that can really help me I know that I can’t reverse age signs but at least I need some help in starting from inside out I mean vitamins, skin lotions, etc.

    • makeupteresa says:

I started taking fish oil and have noticed that my skin doesn’t get as dry as it used to. My hands used to get so dry that they’d crack.

all natural skin regime? baking soda aging my skin?
i recently started using all natural/organic skin care and personal care products (shampoo, deodorant, body wash ect.) and i look out for parabens and sulates.
But when it comes to my skin care regime, i use an all natural face wash, but about 4 times a week, i use baking soda and water to make a paste, and scrub my face with it for exfoliation, and it was kida like microdermabrasian.
But now i did some research and realized that it can be really harmful so often, so now i only do it once a week.

    My questions are..
    1) i used to use high chemical, media supported products. Is it to late to reverse damage that has been done? and if not, how can i reverse that damage?
    2) how does baking soda affect your skin, and can it age it when using it so often?
    3) is using baking soda once a week still too often?

thanks to all, and no stupid answers please 🙂

    • Seeya says:

      1. You’ve been a guinea pig by using too many products. No it’s not too late to reverse the damage, just don’t do it anymore, we learn the hard way. Staying out of the sun will help that.

      2. I don’t ever use baking soda, I use them for baking and to keep my fridge fresher.

Good thinking! Question 6b is True!
After all, people are individuals. And there’s no telling what any individual may be allergic to. According to the cosmetic industry, “hypoallergenic” means “less likely to cause an allergic reaction.” But dermatologists – and consumers who have allergies – know that the word “hypoallergenic” on the label is no guarantee against an allergic reaction.

      Nope! Question 6c is False!
“Dermatologist tested” doesn’t really tell you much, does it? It leaves you wondering about things like:

•Did the dermatologist work for the manufacturer?
•How many people was the product tested on?
•How long did the testing last?
•What were the results of the testing?
Remember, poison ivy is all natural, too! But you probably don’t want it on your skin. It is very possible to have an allergic reaction, or other irritation, from products labeled “all natural” or “organic.” For example, lanolin, from sheep’s wool, is a common natural ingredient in some moisturizers that sometimes causes allergic reactions.

The less products you use, the better for your skin. Treat your face like your skin. Use Bath wash like Suave Bath & Body Gel, use a washcloth. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday.

The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free.

Acne medication could worsen what ever allergies you have, so instead of trying out one product after another, you’re actually spreading it around. Example: ProActiv contains a known carcinogen, at a percentage known to promote skin cancer.

The FDA has called for more safety studies on benzoyl peroxide because of concern about what happens when skin treated with it is exposed to the sun. Until research can establish or disprove a possible skin cancer link to the use of benzoyl peroxide products, the agency plans to require an extra warning and directions on the labeling: “When using this product, avoid unnecessary sun exposure and use sunscreen.” and “If going outside, use a sunscreen. Allow [product name] to dry, then follow directions in the sunscreen labeling. If irritation or sensitivity develops, discontinue use of both products and consult a doctor.”

I get one tiny zit a month or none. I have very clear, soft & silky complexion and I’m 60 years old, same as when I was in HS.

What anti-aging products should I use on my young skin?
I am about to turn 20 and I was wondering if there are any good anti-aging products that are more for preventing/delaying signs of aging in younger skin, rather than reversing/helping with signs of aging that are already present in mature skin.

my facial skin in the past had a fresh/whitish look to it, now my facial skin looks yellowish and unfresh,?
the whites of my eyes are white however, so i ruled out jaundice. So then what is causing this tired, aging/browning- not so fresh looking facial skin, what can I do to get back that fresh looking face? What is causing this and what could be done to reverse this?

    • Jbabyy88 says:

It could be the cold weather. Try an exfoliating facial scrub and then put on a skin brightening moisturizer afterward.

Has any one used Burt’s Bees naturally ageless night cream?
I am 33 years old. Unfortunately I grew up in the sun with no sun screen. My face is already showing many signs of premature aging skin. I am very upset about this and would like to do everything I can to prevent more damage, as well as reverse the damage. I have tried many creams, as most women and I can’t find one that actually does what it claims. Does anyone have any suggestions that really work?

MooGoo face cream – you purchase it through limited health food shops or on their website

they have anti aging ones as well and all their products are made from natural ingredients & of course milk.

My mum is in her 50s and she looks radiant, and she used to bake herself on the beach all throughout her early life

Also on their website are lots of letters from happy customers

      heres there website

I’m 19 and have started using it just recently and have managed to get some of my friends onto it as well

      it really does work

    Inexpensive antioxidant skin care products?
Are there any good inexpensive antioxidant serums (or creams or other topical treatments for the face)? I don’t want to spend more than $50 on one, but all of the antioxidant products I know of cost over $100. (I tried Neutrogena’s Anti-Oxidant Age Reverse, but I don’t think it did anything more than moisturize.)

Should a 23 year old woman begin using aging creams? If so what do you recommend?
I have acne and i used benzoyl peroxide cream at night to clear it up but i have noticed that my skin if i place one finger on my forehead or cheeks where i used it a lot, the skin around the area looks as though it is being pulled and it looks old like. What to do? Is there hope to reverse this?

    • Jenny♥☮™ says:

At 23 Your still young so don’t use anti age cream because most of them contain retinol which is something that is harsh on your skin and causes alot of irritation due to it tighten.the best thing to do to prevents wrinkles right now is apply sunscreen ever day.when your skin gets more mature then (around 34) you should start using anti age creams.but until the don’t.and about your spot don’t worry about’ll go away on its own(:

What can I use to repair my skin?
I’ve been using sunblock 50 uva/uvb for maybe 3 years now I’ve been using 60 for atleast 4 months, I take calcium and vitamin c. I stay out of the sun and wear a big hat and gloves when I am out.
I’ve used a lot of products vitamin c serum by avon, the peel pads, ance pads, olaydefinity, aveen radiant lotion, neutrogena.

I’ve been getting freckles or maybe age spot never had before and my tan is taking a long time to completely fade it does not match my body although I cover up, it’s not bad but it’s still there makes me look much older, I’m only in my early 20’s. I read that spots, dry skin, rosecea, fine lines, show up because of unprotected sun exposure, when I was younger I didn’t use sunblock but my tan would fade away. I tried retin a, can’t use hydroquinone wondered what a good method to get healthy skin back and prevent freckles or reverse sundamage? what products? I don’t putting food or using make up as a soultion. thanks
also don’t want to put self tanner because I’m naturally white want luminious skin back do not suggest those.

Seems like you’re on the right path. I would add daily MSM along with your Vitamin C supplements though. MSM helps Vitamin C (and Vitamin E, actually) absorb more. Daily supplement of CoenzymeQ10 would be good too.

Topical Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) is suppose to help stimulate collagen and as you may know, it’s an antioxidant as well. However, I was trying to find Avon’s Vitamin C serum right now but couldn’t find much about it. Is the Vitamin C in this product L-Ascorbic Acid? L-Ascorbic Acid is the only Vitamin C that’s the most beneficial to the skin. Other Vitamin C serums, such as those from Obagi, Cellex-C, and SkinCeuticals are a lot more expensive but also, much more better in protecting and healing the skin.

By the way, Vitamin C serums shouldn’t last you a couple of months. Oxidation is a problem with Vitamin C. Once oxidized (color turns yellow / amber), it is no longer effective. That’s why you should look for Vitamin C serums that are clear. Vitamin C serums with color are worth nothing.

So, for Vitamin C, look for:
      – L-Ascorbic Acid as the main ingredient
      – Clear color
& try to avoid water-based ones (like with Hyaluronic Acid) as that hastens the oxidation process

Aside from that, the best thing you can do (instead of using a ton of different products … like i use to) is just make your skin care regimen simple and have patience. I use to worry a lot with my skin problems and spent so much money on different products (most, which were crap) and in all honesty, all I had to do from the start was just wait. Sunblock (or sunscreen) along with a quality Vitamin C serum are essential. Eat healthy, drink lots of water, use a pH balanced cleanser and an extra tip, Emu Oil is great as a moisturizer! 🙂

How long do you have to smoke for it to cause skin aging, teeth yellowing ect..?
I have a friend that’s smoked for about 6 years. She’s now trying to quit. She started smoking at 21 and she’s now 27. She looks really young. If she quits now does she have a good chance of reversing the effects. Or when she like hits 40 will she age more because she once smoked? She worries a lot about aging.
She smoked about 1/2 a pack a day.

    • bunches999 says:

I’m a firm believer in reversing the effects of horrible, posinous, disgusting crap we put into our bodies. However, I am a very positive thinker. That said, it is probably better to tell your friend that one more cigarette and she’ll shrivel up like a raisin…otherwise she might be tempted to smoke again, because that is how addiction works. Again, I’m a positive thinker and I believe it is possible to reverse the effects of smoking, but I’m sure doctors will tell you that however many years you’ve smoked, you’ve shaved an equal amount if not more off of your life-time. Not only that, but you’ve significantly shortened the quality of your life.
But that’s the other people…so tell her to keep positive, but stop smoking. And if she does continue to smoke, at least tell her to do it when she is not with other people, otherwise she is putting a death sentence on them as well!

You are very wise to start thinking about preventing skin aging before the damage is done!

The good news is that since you are so young, you only need a moisturizer that is gentle, some antioxidents, and most importantly, and SPF.

The Super Rescue Antioxident Night Cream is for more mature skin, so it could actually work against you. You would be better off trying Estee Lauders DayWear Plus. It is suitable for all ages, and it is anti-aging, with antioxidents and SPF.

Here is a link so you can check it out

      Good luck, hope this helps!

  12. Mister euro says:

How can we block aging process in skin?? I do know!?
I am a 28 years old guy from europe and I really see that my skin is getting f*ing older. I have almost no wrinkles in my face because I don’t smoke. But between my fingers and on my hand I can clearly see that the color changes and little wrinkles are growing and the skin gets thinner.

I do KNOW what the cause of the aging process is! Since only 2 months we know that the ELT-Genes are starting the aging process. Its like a chain-reaction. Eventually we found out that the gene-expression changes, and eventually other low-quality collagen and elastin proteins in the skin gets produced by the body. Also those different gene-expressions make the body looking older and more vulnerable to oxidants. The body flesh never gets old! The body gets constantly refreshed with new collagen but the quality is lower and worse! You must believe the genes are still the SAME, and the genes still know how to produce young and nice smooth skin with much collagen of type 1, but the body doesn’t want to activate and express those young genes anymore. The body only expresses more and more of the other genes which produce low quality and deteriorated proteins. Eventually the body will fall apart and we are dead. Smoking does only accelerate the change in the gene-expression.

I am very sorry, that I have NOT the necessary funds and money to make more research.I have a lot of knowledge, and I really wanted to contribute my time. But I can’t. What can I do??

I also feel very depressed because I know that in the future we can stop and reverse the aging process to a certain extent. Getting an simple injection like vaccination and the gene expression and the body clock can be set back.

Will I still be alive to see that?????? Can I afford that? I am very sad..

    • Warren T says:

Sure smoking is bad but the sun is much much worse. The reason the skin on the inside of your thighs looks young is not due to different gene expression but because it has had no sun.

Is there any way to reverse aging effects?
I am twenty years old and I already notice that I have big bags under my eyes. My skin certainly isn’t healthy and I look around 25 years old. I would imagine that this can be explained by the fact I have smoked a pack and a half a day since I was fourteen. I also live a sedentary lifestyle, eat an unhealthy diet, and was formerly a drug addict. Is there any way for me to look my age and try and halt this aging process?

  14. wandering star says:

    Can premature aging be reversed?
I’m only 17 and have wrinkles in the inner corner of one of my eyes. I think it’s a result of using harsh cleansers, or makeup, but I really don’t know. It’s not genetic.
Is there anything I can do to get rid of my wrinkles? I don’t want to have weird granny skin when I’m not even an adult yet.

    • 'Sunnyside Up' says:

Aging is enhances by these things:

      Smoking and drinking
Not drinking all the water daily that the body needs to survive with
      Too much sun bathing
      Poor diet
Drugs, especially those that are not perscribed and/or taken in excess
      Lack of sleep
      Lack of exercise
Too many extra chemicals like makeup and unnatural creams and lotions and soaps

When the body is not balanced in all of the above things then it will take a toll on the body and can even start to shut it down periodically. For example when we do not drink the proper amount of water the brain that needs the most water of all other parts of the body will actually rob the other organs of their fluid in order to protect itself. When that happens (and you won’t even know it is happening most of the time) those other organs suffer and start to age. Do this enough times and it effects the entire body with premature aging. You can’t reverse this but to right your body will stop the premature signs of it. Keep hydrated. Stay out of the sun. Read the labels of what you put on your skin and what you put into your body. That is the best way to stay young. I am over 58 and look younger than both my daughters who are both over 25 years younger than I am. They both wear makeup, lay in the sun, eat junk food, and one drinks alcohol, etc. I don’t. I don’t have any bad wrinkles and I never wear makeup. I also have perfect teeth and no gray or white hair yet. They both dye their hair to keep the gray from showing. I’ve never put anything into my hair. If you take care of your body it will take care of you.

Olive oil vs Vaseline for my skin. Which is better?
I am 17 year old african american and have suffered with sensitive skin and eczema since I was 9 years old. Since then I have been applying petroleum jelly to my skin every morning. It works well and outside of seasonal flare ups it keeps me symptom free. But I recently found out from a teacher that applying olive oil to your skin reverses the aging process. I would love to look 30 at the age of 50 so I’m about to start using olive oil in place of vaseline in the morning. Do you think this is a good idea? FYI: Despite putting on vaseline every day and being a teenager I have never suffered from acne, had a pimple, or a zit.

Spray tanning or lotions, I hear it’s better for you and does not age your skin.
Anyways, I want to know that if I stop tanning or maybe tan a little bit will my skin heal?
I would think if I’m barely in the sun anymore it will heal but I don’t know.
I just don’t want wrinkles and leathery skin..or worse skin cancer.
If I was close to any of that, will me not tanning reverse that process?

    • Seeya says:

I’ve avoided the sun since age 12, but no matter how much I protect myself from the sun, using wide brim hat or jackets to cover my arms or gloves with sailing etc. .. . . I still get Discoid Lupus due from the sun.

I even have a hat when I’m riding in a bus or car or driving. A bonus for you for trying to avoid the sun.

I’ve tried all kinds of lotions. The only answer I can share is patience. Takes time, but once you’ve got them, they will not fade away, if they do a long long time.

    Aging from a miracle?
Before this prayer- I looked younger than my age- like 15-16. But a year ago- I prayed to be biologically 24. (I didn’t want to be physically 24- sometimes I pray for things I don’t want when I’m confused. I have deep emotional issues) Immediately after the prayer- I looked in the mirror. My face looked older already. I decided not to think about the prayer and move on with life. However- the next day- I noticed some faint signs of aging already. (I didn’t begin to age before the prayer!!) My skin was beginning to get a bit loose. A few months later- I lost some of the firmness of the flesh of my arms, legs, and back. (I noticed some slight sagging.) Now I have forehead lines when I raise my eyebrows. It’s been a year since the miracle from the prayer. My face seems to be looking older every week now. Before the prayer a year ago- people said I look 15-16. Now people say I look over 25. Can I always pray to be younger again and reverse the effects of this terrible miracle?
I’m NOT overweight so this has NOTHING to do with weight gain or fat.

I noticed the flesh in my arms and legs is a bit loose now. (I know this is a sign of aging) It was tight and firm before the miracle a year ago.

Some people look younger than their age. I used to look younger than my age (before the prayer) Now I look even a bit older than my chronological/calendar age

    • Florence B says:

Look in the mirror only to make certain you are clean.

Ask Jesus to speak to you heart and reveal His Will for your life. Ask Him to sanctify you and use you to labour in His vineyard. Ask Him to keep you humble while He is using you, so that all Glory properly goes to God.

Attend church, read the Word and pray, pray, pray. Ask God to reveal opportunities for you to Witness and share and help his children.

Life is very, very short. Nothing in life is permanent. You will continue aging, it goes in cycles, sometimes slowly, then rapidly.

I am still blessed at 47 most people are shocked they think I am 25 or so. But soon that will change and possibly rapidly. I am at peace. I work for Jesus through His power. He loves me and helps me, He is my friend, and one day, I will go Home to Jesus. And guess what…in Heaven we will have our youthful bodies, forever.

    Pamper Yourself
Did you know? as skin ages, collagen and elastin, fibers that keep the skin firm, weaken. The skin looks loose and lax, becomes thinner and loses fat, so that it looks less plump and smooth. While all these changes are taking place, gravity is also at work, pulling at the skin and causing it to sag.

I would recommend looking at clinique products, they sell a lot of good quality stuff. I use their moisturizer and repiarwear to fight off wrinkles. It’s a little bit pricey but good stuff.

I wouldn’t waste your money on home microdermabrasion/ acid peel kits, they say on the lables not to expect spa/ medical results. If you want to do something that dramatic, talk with a dermatologist and see what they’d recommend.

WTF @ TITTY face. 😛 Stop being a betch.

Will using Vitamin A and D3 and E, from cutting open gel caps, help protect skin, or reverse signs of aging?
How is the vitamin A in the gel cap different from retinol A? Do any of these help lessen wrinkles, accelerate cell turnover &/or lighten skin?I am referring to cutting open the gel caps and applying to my skin. I have done it a couple of times with no adverse reaction, but will it help? Anything safe that will increase cell turnover or tighten skin? (weight loss=saggy neck especially) Does vitamin C help? If so, in what way, please? Thanks!

    • BackwoodsBarbie says:

when you use vitamin e capsules you need to make sure it say d-alpha tocopherol on the back..that is the natural vitamin e ..anything else is synthetic…the real vitamin e capsules can be found anywhere and will reduce scarring and wrinkles and even eliminate them sometimes..even old scars…pop open the capsule and spread on face at night to sleep….it is thick and at first it may seem your skin gets worse….but you have to keep going and push past this point…eventually you will notice your skin absorbs it much more readlily and it starts to work…the skin works in 21 day cycles…if you notice significant changes after doing it 21 days every night straight then keep using it. You should also take it internally 400 iu per day. If you cant handle the stickyness try this…wash face at night…pop open capsule , spread on face generously, (dont forget your lips) ..then take a warm/wet washrag or paper towel and lay it over your face and gently blot off the excess….I have used vitamin e on and off for has virtually eliminated my acne scars and the acne itself. At first it made it kinda worse. At first it was gooey and I hated it I put it on after using it every single night for the last month and my skin just sucks it right up..after 15 minutes I blot the excess leftover if I feel like it…I am 32 and I pretty much have no wrinkles…even if you dont put it all over you can just try one area for starters if that makes you feel more comfortable…like just under your eyes..or only on your forheadbut I also do lots of other things as well …and sometimes I get lazy and my skin suffers for it. I also make handmade lotions and soaps and toners and masks ect..ect…sometimes I just buy a regular lotion and I add my own stuff to it to make it better (like palmers cocoa butter lotion which I love) I may just pop a few capsules of vitamin e oil into it ..this is an easy way to make a lotion unique to you …but if your experimenting I reccomend taking only half the bottle of lotion and putting it into a container and then add your own stuff so you dont waste your lotion if you botch a batch…so maybe you cant make everything from scratch, but you can build upon other things to make them better…. the best thing for your face I have found though which I can never use because it stinks too bad is straight Fish works soooooo well …leave it on your wrinkles and do it ever night

Try this you’ll LOVE it !!! Get some brown sugar and some olive oil mix together in a container…put it in a container with a lid …keep it in your shower and gently exfoliate with it on your face and body every is soooooo wonderful…I ALWAYS do this even when I am being lazy..
The brown sugar has natually occuring glycolic acid in it…use this as a BASE and then experiment with other batches by adding other stuff you find interesting into the essential oils…or the vitamin A and D3 capsules you speak of till you have your own unique mix..sometimes I crushh up asprins into powder and mix it into the batch because it is natually occuring salacylic acid which works for acne…but always AT LEAST just keep the BASE of the sugar and olive oil on hand at all times…if you try and get to complicated you might give up so that is why you should keep the BASE on hand at all times…

Here is a BIG tip I have discovered with trial and error when deciding on skin care lotion…if it burns dont use it…
when I pick out a store bought lotion I find a cut on myself or a raw and chapped area..or like a paper cut..if the lotions soothes it I buy it..if the lotion BURNS dont get it..lotions and creams and salves and oils are suppose to sooth what is irritated from soaps and toners and general all over wear and tear…and dont forget your neck area..try everything and find out what you love..Oh and as far as vitamin C..I have found a liquid form in a gelcap and have used it before…it burned but worked …so now I mix a very small amount of c with ALOT of E..or I just apply mashed foods that have a natually high content of vitamin c in them …like strawberries..or I have used orange juice then wiped it off…I have used tea bags on my eyes..I have slathered myself in chocolate..I have layed in a geliton bath..I have gave myself a seaweed wrap in saran wrap…I have made a bowl of oatmeal and it ended up on my face and neck…I have ate a banana the thought “hmmm..I wonder..” then ended up rubbing the inside of the peel all over my hands to see what it would do…just try different stuff…I have even done facial excersizes..some I liked and felt comfortable with some I didnt feel like were good…I even made up some of my own til I find out what worked…whatever works !!! Trust your gut instincts and try keeping a journal of your experiences …make sure you have a good mirror and try different lighting so you can see the before and after…if you feel something doesnt work not do it…trust yourself to know whats best for you…good luck and above all else…HAVE FUN AND BE HAPPY !!

i wanna use a neutrogena product i heard its just a preventative so its not something someone in their 40s would benefit from but it supposedly helps prevent signs of aging and is for young skin its called Neutrogena Anti-Oxidant Age Reverse Night Cream

I am thinking of buying it I am 17 is this safe???
my skin is really fair and sensitive thats why i am scared of having those dark spots cuz my mom is my color and skin type she had that problem

    • abuzz_buzz says:

It is safe but I would seriously look into the ingredients that they are using and see what they really do or what they are designed to do.
I recently watched this BBC doco which said that cosmetic products do not have to go through proven scientific testing (unlike medical products like sunscreen, panadol etc) so what they say is mostly made up. Also if any product says it is anti-aging it is most likely because it has sunscreen in it and obviously that is anti-aging.
There is only one way to know whether the cream is suited to your skin type and that is by testing it yourself.
Probably a more effective way of slow down skin aging is to apply suncream (when in the sun and don’t get burnt, this accelerates aging ), don’t smoke, don’t eat too much sugar and drink at least 2L of water a day. Good luck.

What causes thin skin? And what can help reverse it?
I’ve been getting my eyebrows waxed for a while, and it didn’t used to be a problem, but recently, every time I go the skin right below my eyebrow either comes off completely or is extremely red and raw. I’m 15 I’m guessing that my newly thin and sensitive skin isn’t from aging, and I’m not using any acne medication so it’s not from that either. I also don’t spend a lot of time in the sun [I’m pretty pale, actually. xD] which is the other thing I’ve heard causes thin skin. I don’t know what else could be the problem! Help?

    Premature aging?
Is it possible to reverse premature aging (In other words improve skin conditions)?

I used to go outside a lot to play basketball in the sun without wearing sunscreen and it kinda damged my skin. Its not that bad but it still bothers me ALOT. I’m only 15.

What bothers me the most is my uneven skintone. And also my laugh lines, which aren’t deep, but are “darker” than my face color.

Answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    • Jason V says:

Short of surgery (dont go there) you cant repair already sun damaged skin so take care of what you have. Wear sunscreen, a hat, a t shirt @ the beach. Your skin should reach an even colour all over. And shove some moisturiser into those laugh lines. Any brand, cheap or expensive will suffice, they all do the same thing.

As for make-up ageing your skin – the opposite is in fact true. Nowadays cosmetic products have so many built in moisturisers, mineral content, SPF, UVA protectants, anti-agening properties, etc, etc. It’s all a matter of choosing the right, good quality, trusted brand names.

    Can I reverse early aging?
I am 30 and after a stressful time I feel I have aged a lot my skin look bad and I have lot’s of lines under my eyes. Can I reverse this damage and remove the lines through a healthy lifestyle, exercise and good skin care or will I need to get botox?

    • MsGalaxy says:

A good skin care regimen can do absolute wonders for stressed skin. Often fine lines appear when the body is under stress. Lots of water, fruits and vegetables can provide the hydration and anti-oxidants that can help skin repair naturally. Deep lines and wrinkles are another matter, and you’re not old enough to have those. Be sure to use a good moisturizer every single day, as well as a sunscreen on your face. This last tip will pay off big in the years to come.

Look up your local Aveda salon/spa. The skin care products are spendy but superb. Good luck!

How much does smoking age your skin? Is this damage reversible if you quit at a young age?
I am 20, and I have been smoking a little over a pack a day since I was 13. My skin is becoming dry, irregularly colored, and I have recently noticed two deep lines on my forehead. Is it possible to reverse this damage if I quit smoking now, or am I forever doomed to look older than I actually am?

    • Samantha says:

If you quit smoking you will find many improvements, not only in how you look but in how you feel. Obviously everyone is different, but it is possible that your skin will get better once the continuous damage done by cigarettes has stopped.

If I start using them and keep using them for the rest of my life, will the effects eventually reverse and start making my skin get wrinkly and old? Or will they like stop working after a while? Is this a good idea? And also, if this is a good idea, what are some good anti-aging products that aren’t too expensive?

    • Nayi says:

Mia, I can only suggest what I use; first start off with using a mild facial cleanser like Olay foaming. Second for anti aging I use Preve by Isabella Pelle. Whether it’s expensive or not I don’t know, only you can decide. Hope this helps.

Is there any way to save my skin?
Every summer, I normally get tan (I get sun burnt first, and then it turns to tan)…

My mom said it ages your skin. I also have an awful junk food addiction, and I heard that sugar makes you age faster. Is there any possible way to reverse this?

    I’m afraid that when I’m 30, I’ll have wrinkles, and I seriously don’t want that!! 🙁

P.S.-I never ever use a tanning bed. But I still want to get tan in the summer. I know the sun isn’t good for your skin, but it’s better than a tanning bed! Does sunscreen prevent skin from getting burnt AND tan? Or can I still get tan without getting burnt by using sunscreen?

    • Butterscotch says:

You are incredibly lucky that you have come to this realization so soon. The sun can very damaging to your skin. If you are normally pale skinned then you need to protect your skin with a high factor sun cream – I personally never go below factor 30. NEVER allow yourself to tan – because tan is a sign of skin damage. If you want to get that golden glow then you need to learn how to fake it. Buy your suntan in a bottle, or go to a beauty salon and have it sprayed on. If you start looking after your skin while you are young then you can have great looking skin well into old age.

I have always worn a hat in the summer and I wear sunglasses to protect the delicate skin under my eyes. I also wear a t-shirt to protect the delicate lower neck and chest area. People are always amazed when I tell them my real age. They always assume that I’m years younger. It’s always a nice feeling.

Don’t risk a natural suntan. Unless you want skin like old boot leather some day. But remember you DO need around 10 minutes of natural sunlight each day for Vitamin D absorption. Don’t use suncream during this time. But don’t do this during the hottest times – you want to avoid burning at all costs. 🙂

What’s the best anti-aging products for my skin?
I’m in my early twenties, and this may seem like a rather vain question, but what anti-aging skin products should I be looking for?
From my understanding, it’s best to start treating your skin as early as possible (and I care very much about my skin). A lot of products are used to reverse wrinkles and such, but I’m looking for the cream/moisturizer that would be most fitting for my age, seeing as how I haven’t developed much for wrinkles yet.

Now besides the obvious exercise, sunscreen and water, what’s the best product for preventing aging signs?

    • ale says:

you should start by wearing at least a good night cream, like Artistry Time Defiance Night Recovery Creme and a good eye cream, like Artistry Essentials Replenishing Eye Creme.

The night cream will help increase your skin’s production of collagen and elastin and will protect your skin against free radicals. The eye cream will hydrate the delicate skin around your eyes (where most of the wrinkles first start) and will help with puffiness and dark circles.

    • Mukunda M says:

Massaging thoroughly with essential oils will greatly counteract any damage and will rejuvenate skin. They feed skin essential nutrients that nurture it and ward off aging – and they are perfect natural moisturizers – you will need no other one. Massage does not pull or stress skin as you tighten first by tightening face muscles. Tightening them and massage exercises and conditions them and thus combats their weakening which is one cause of sagging, leading to wrinkling and lines. Massage also firms, smooths and tightens skin, keeps it young looking and gives it a healthy, vital glow. For most effective results use olive oil and make the massage vigorous and do for 10 min. each day. Even the first day you will see skin revitalize, look and feel smoother, become tighter and develop a healthy glow. Focus massage on lines and wrinkles and they will diminish.(I give detailed treatments in many of my other answers). First tighten skin by opening mouth 1″ pulling lips firmly back against teeth and partially jutting out chin. I’ve seen this totally restore youthfilness and vitality to a skin damaged aging face.To avoid further skin harm by sunscreens first apply oils, lightly wash with just water, tissue dry and apply sunscreen on top. Surprisingly it is as equally protective. I am often in intense sun for hours and with just one application of SPF 15 I never burn

I meant the stuff that removes wrinkles. I should have said that differently since some people take things too literally.

If there was anything out there that reversed aging, don’t you think that every medical person would be taking it? I certainly would! Fact is, you can’t reverse aging by even so much as one minute. It’s a one-way process. Eye serums, wrinkle creams, prescription skin creams, etc., do nothing more than help to mask the wrinkles a little. Wash the cream off, and the wrinkles come right back.

Lately it looks like my skin is going downhill fast, and obviously I don’t want that to happen before my time.

Is there any way to reverse aging effects?
I am twenty years old and I already notice that I have big bags under my eyes. My skin certainly isn’t healthy and I look around 25 years old. I would imagine that this can be explained by the fact I have smoked a pack and a half a day since I was fourteen. • Giovanna says:

The good news is it’s not too late and yes you can reverse the effects of aging. What you need to do is stop those bad habits today. You need to start eating 5-9 servings (1/2 cup each) of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially and blue/purple fruits which contain the highest amount of antioxidants. Second, you have to stop smoking as this breaks down the collagen in your skin and causes major wrinkling. Third, stay out of the sun and start using 30spf daily. The sun also wrinkles the skin and causes sun spots. Fourth, 20 minutes of walking 5 times a week can make your body healthier and make you look younger. Fifth, avoid drugs if you can. Drugs have major side effects which can exhaust your body and make you look older. Also remember that 8 hours of sleep is crucial for looking and feeling young.
