Is there an eye cream out there that really works on getting rid of under eye puffiness?

I dont want to go to a doctor over this. I have tried home remedies like tea bags and frozen teaspoons. They do help a litte but I am just hoping someone has tried an eye cream or serum that worked for them and was willing to share.

How do I get rid of under-eye puffiness?
All summer I’ve been seeping in.
But…school is starting tomorrow and I have to get up really really early, I know my eyes will be puffy.
What are some things I can do in the morning (in minimum time) to reduce the puffiness and look awake?

    Thanks! =)
    Oh oops…I meant “sleeping” =)

store your moisturizer in the fridge, the coolness helps, also you can use ice, I use the plastic ice cubes, you know the fruit shaped ones with water inside you can freeze, they work really good. Also a couple cups of coffee or othe caffiene drink reduce swelling & puffiness everywhere. Have fun :)

what’s the difference between dark circles, under eye bags, and under eye puffiness?
are they all just synonyms for each other? could someone explain the difference between them and give pictures if you can find any.

    thanks.

    • Lauren says:

Yes there is infact a differance. Dark circles under eyes is just discoloring around more likly under the eye usually dark bluish color. Bags under eyes is when the skin uder your eye sags and under eye puffiness is when underneth your eye just looks puffy.

Otherwise cut down on salt, drink lots of water
and tea bags, and cucumbers may help.

I am 18 and I just started developing under eye puffiness in the last year or so. I admit I don’t drink a lot of water, but I need to know if drinking water really helps. How to take stars away from your eyes?(extra puffiness under or on top of your eye)?
I just woke up this morning with extra puffiness under my left eye.

    • Doctor P says:

Puffiness around your eyes can be caused by a few different things. If you have seasonal allergies than an antihistamine like Benadryl or Claritin will help but they need to be taken regularly for maximum effectiveness. A cold compress held on the eye for 5-10 minutes can reduce some swelling. I have also heard that celebrities use Preperation H or other anti-hemorrhoid cream which is a vaso-constrictor (shrinks blood vessels) but be extra careful not to get it in your eye. If there are any changes in the skin surface you may have a little contact dermatitis from something you may have touched and been a little sensitive to. If it continues or worsens..see your doctor.

    • Mukunda M says:

Many on Answers have tried many of the home treatments and all the creams and under eye rollers and report that they did not do anything to lessen bags. There is an epidemic of under eye bags and circles and many are reported by those in teens or early twenties. The main reason is reaction to skin sickening toxins in skin care, cosmetic and skin medicating products. Many teenage girls use 20 or more products daily and an alarming number of products contain skin(and health) harming toxins. See this site Skin Deep Cosmetic Database. A Feelgood Resource. The Database tested many thousands of products and identifies which ones are the most harming and those which are non or only minimally harming. So the first thing to do is select the none or least harming products on the Database..

Then try these safe, natural, tried and tasted treatments that quickly and permanently get rid of them. They really work and have helped many on Answers

This is a response I received from wannabeblue28:
“Hi Mukunda M. I have just been rubbing my face with oil using my fingers and hands and It has made a HUGE difference in my complexion after just one night. …… My skin looks so much tighter everywhere and i no longer have bags under my eyes! Thank you so much for your post, I have been suffering with acne and under-eye circles since i was young.”

She had seen an answer I gave about how vigorous face massaging with pure natural oils had permanently rid my face of acne AND removed my bags/circles. Massage greatly tightens skin under and around the eye area and the bags go away. Find Answer with a search “Mukunda M vigorous massage to remove eye bags/circles”

      The most helpful ones are:
(Using both hands together) massage with palms and front of fingers held together
      (1) Do long up and down sweeps close to nose from chin area up to near eyes.
      (2) Do another up and back at an angle from chin point to cheek bone.
      (3) Do fast up and down massage close to eye from cheek bones at an angle of 45 degrees (on your crows feet).
Best if do for several minutes daily – will markedly tighten skin in eye area and diminish the circles in the first two or three days. Use any oil. Olive is good.
IMPORTANT: To avoid skin pulling first make facial skin taught by partially opening mouth and pulling lips firmly back against teeth (tightens most of face)

Use any natural oil. Extra virgin olive oil works well for many. It’s noncomedogenic so does not clog, cause breakouts or make skin oily,
Additionally facial yoga exercises help a great deal. Find on You Tube. Do the “The lion face” and try to hold for 30 seconds. A variation of that is protruding the tongue as if trying to touch tip of nose with tip of tongue.

YOGA MEDITATION is a great help and is easy to do. It enables you to completely relax and gives you deep, restful sleep. 6 or 7 hours of restful sleep is considerably more beneficial than 8 or 9 more hours of non restful sleep. I found Siddha Yoga meditation was the most beneficial.

    • vincebeknown says:

I don’t know about the word hemohrrioid but to get the puffiness off your eyes.I think you should put a bunch of spoons in the freezer, leave it there for about 2 hours, get it and rub it around the area(just like boxing)……..But if it is HEMMORAGING(bleeding) go to the nearest pharmacy and orders some OPTHALMIC BACITRACIN.thats what we use after eyelift surgery.

What is the best way to reduce under-eye baggage, puffiness & dark circles?
I mean, I’m only a teenager and I already have the dark circles under my eyes, and even the bags and puffiness. How can I reduce this? Can under- AND over-sleeping, either of them, cause one or all of these? If so, how many hours should I be sleeping (because I think I oversleep)?

Any tips/help would be appreciated, 10 points best answer! :) Thanks!!

    • Nayi says:

This is what I do: Drink min. of 3 glasses of water daily to keep your skin hydrated. Get your normal sleep, (everybody has a different set point for normal sleep, some people do well with 6hours while others need over 8 hours). Too little, or too much will cause eye puffiness, and dark circles.
Third use a good eye cream. This is what I use; Extreme Eye Rescue. It’s made by Isabella Pelle. I apply it twice daily, in the morning after washing my face, and at night after I shower. Hope this helps.

    • hmm says:

The tea bags are the *best* for this. Better yet is to use cold tea bags. Wet them, put them in the fridge for a few minutes and then hold those puppies on your eyes for a few more minutes. Feels so nice too. I use regular not decaf. lol!

  23. Colette says:

Under eye puffiness and under eye bags?
Under eye puffiness and under eye bags. Are they the same thing? I’m trying to find a cream or something that will reduce or cure the bags under my eyes. I’ve heard of Preparation H giving great results but is that a permanent eye bag remover or a temporary quick fix?

    • Lou says:

putting on make up to cover up the problem will not fix the problem just prolong the agony. You should look for a system that is first of all all natural so that you reduce the chance of side effects. This treatment should have elastin and it should also promote collagen growth so that your body wont stop producing it.

If it promotes the growth of it then your body will continue to do what it’s supposed to do and it wont become dependent on it.

Have you ever heard of this to decrease under eye puffiness?
I heard that you can try to crush up an antihistamine (such as Benadryl) and mix it with water and then apply to the under eyes to decrease puffiness and dark circles. I know that allergies definitely cause puffiness and I was just wondering because it’d be great to use benadryl w/o getting sleepy. Thanks!

I’ve never heard of that, but it makes sense. Another home remedy is to use hemmeroid cream-sounds weird, but works great.

Hold ice under your eyes when you wake up. Garnier has this great product called an Anti- puff eye roller that I use religiously everyday since I barely sleep and it instantly reduces puffiness.

Edit: I really recommend a good concealer. Treat yourself to the Benefit Erase Paste, it’s really good. A good drugstore alternative is the maybeline mineral power concealer- I use both and love them equally

So, any tricks for helping with this issue?

Most of the time lack of iron is the case of dark circles
If you do lack iron, you might be prescribed iron supplements. Its also a good idea to look at boosting your iron intake.
The best sources of iron are liver (although it is not recommended during pregnancy), lean red meat including venison, egg yolks, dried and tinned beans including baked beans, lentils and chickpeas (hummus is perfect).
Other good sources include soya mince, seaweed, fortified breakfast cereals, seeds such as pumpkin and sunflower, dark green leafy vegetables such as Savoy cabbage, dried apricots, figs, oatmeal, prunes, broccoli, asparagus, wholemeal bread and brown rice.
Unfortunately, the body doesnt readily absorb iron from non-meat sources, but vitamin C will help
And for the puffiness..Ive hear that if you put wet cold teabags on your eyes it helps

I am 20 /male and getting dark circles and puffiness under the eye because I don’t really sleep that early. I was wondering if i buy this will it work effectively? I also bought the murad resurgence and I was wondering if its only for woman or can men use it too? Please tell me if this works effectively as well? thanks.

    • Lisa H says:

murad products are good for both men and women. they are grreat for sensitive skin. Hydroquinone the main ingredient in the product is great for lightening skin. I use the Age Spot & Pigment Lightening Gel on my face for acne spots and it works very well. though it takes time. it is not a product that will work in like 2 days. comments from murad’s website mostly show people saying two weeks of use to see difference.

as for resurgence, it is technically a women’s product since it is for hormonal changes in skin. but I think you can use it as well. I don’t think it matters. but it is designed for people in their 30s – 50s for reduced elasticity, etc. which you as a 20 year old probably won’t help. you are too young.
