Wrecking Balm and other Tattoo Fading Creams: Do They Work?

Healing And Fading Stretch Marks

Appearing as silvery, gray streaks that are found on a woman’s stomach, hips, and breasts, stretch marks are usually the results of pregnancy or from rapid weight gain or weight loss. With the use of effective skin care products, many women (and men) have found they can successfully that healing and fading stretch marks is possible – safely and quickly.

What Causes Stretch Marks?

Marks and scarsare caused when the skin stretches to its limit at a very fast pace. This rapid growth tends to break the elastin fibers, causing elongated scarring to appear. Some diseases, medications and even hormonal problems can also cause symptoms. However, lack of hydration, healthy development of collagen and elastin fiber, and preventative treatment are the primary culprits.

Bio Oil is the best. I used it for a month (massage onto face twice a day) and my acne scarring is almost gone!
It’s used for scars, uneven skin tone and redness and wotknot.

p.s…Don’t be put off by the name (making out as if it is actually an oil, but I have really oily skin, and plus it is non greasy because it has a unique formula)
It costs about £7….so worth the money

What are some good fade creams that clear up dark spots? I’ve tried using Ambi fade cream and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Does anyone know any other ways or creams that will clear up dark spots? Thanks.

Laser Tattoo removal and fading creams?
I’ve had roughly 5 laser treatments for my tattoo. It is fading, but I’m curious as to whether putting a skin lightening cream in conjunction with my treatments will help fade it faster? This would be of course just to spare myself added surgery (expenses) as well as pain (the tattoo is on my back and the surgery feels worse every time).

Just wondering if anyone has done this/recommends this?
If not, is there anything else I can do to move it along?

    • cpt m says:

The creams and liquids don’t work and
may include something that will cause
      infection in the wound.
The laser treatment will leave you with
a scar and there are some colors that
will still be there…green is one.

Will the fading/bleaching creams at CVS get rid of my freckles on my face and chest? THey’re not too dark.
They’re not that noticeable, but I’d like to wear a lighter makeup, but still not have them show. They’re hardly there, but I’d just like to fade them away:) I am a redhead, so I do have some on my shoulders that I’d like to fade too. Anyone tried this? Do you think it’s worth it?

    • LifeIsToLive says:

You can not get rid of freckles but you can even out your skin tone and brighten your face. To do that I would use Artistry Bright Idea Illuminating Essence. It will improve your skin tone in as little as two weeks. The key ingredients are skin-brightening black cohosh and asparagus extracts. Other ingredients are cucumber, lemon, bearberry, and acerola cherry that helps improve skin tone while the antioxidant bitter orange peel combats free radicals. This would definitelly help in your case.

You should also use a mineral founation. Mineral foundation smooths and evens skin tone. Go to http://Arcameda.com and search the site for bright and then mineral foundation to get more information on those products. There are three shades of foundation and I would get light. Hope all is well.

Does Fading creams really work on getting rid of dark marks on african american skin.?
I ‘m just getting my acne under control on my face and back, but I have been left with dark marks on my skin. does fading cream really work? and how long should I use it, and when should I start seeing results?

    Thanks in advance

    • www.ClassicChicShop.com says:

I’m white, but I have used Obagi products. It’s expensive and it’s a mult-step application. You can probably buy it on ebay for cheaper. But there are two different steps that have fading creams in them and they definitely worked for my acne marks. Also worked on a friend’s hormonal marks from a pregnancy. But you would need to research it more for darker skin, because I’m not sure.

Is it better to use a fading cream before the laser tattoo removal treatment?
i’ve had a tattoo not even for half a year so it’s still fresh looking. I’m thinking about removing it but i don’t think it will be completely gone because its a new tattoo. I know if i’m going to remove it, to go with laser treatments however i’m wondering if its more effective to use the creams for a while for the maximum effectiveness and then go with the laser treatments.

    • Michelle says:

I think it would be best to leave your tattoo alone before the treatment… If you fade it out a little it may be harder for them to treat and remove properly, leave it to the professionals. If you’re paying to have it removed then they should do it all, you shouldn’t have to supplement any other part of it. Good luck

Do you know of any effective creams that could fade darker areas and give your face an even, lighter or brighter tone? I’m not tryin to look like Michael Jackson or anything. I just have some darker spots in my face that need to go away. I’ve used products such as Palmer’s Fade cream. It works but it takes FOREVER and a day. I wanted to try something different. Thanks in advance.

I have a few sunspots on my face – do commercial fading creams work?
And if you’ve used them, which brands are most effective? Thanks.

    • arieschic72 says:

hydroquinone works for fading sunspots. you can find a a variety of different name brands in beauty supply stores…depending on your location. be sure to use a good sunblock 30 spf after so they won’t come back,( use fade cream/gel at night and sunblock in day). all the best.

  21. Alofa says:

Does tattoo removal creams work on already faded tattoos?
This question is for only thise that used the cream I dont need your suggestion if it may or may not work. Anyway my tattoos are on my forearms and they are really fading so I’m thinking about using a cream to fade them a little more so I can get lazer removal. Does the cream fade it if its black ink?

    • hey says:

Does the Wrecking Balm Tattoo Fading Cream system work? After visiting some different sites and forums where people have commented on and given their reviews, their ratings look like this approximately: No one claimed it totally faded their tattoo. 60% said no noticeable fading of their tattoo 20% said there was some noticeable fading. 20% said there was a lot of fading. About 35% said they were pretty happy with the amount of fading they had. (It was enough to cover over with a new tattoo, or with make up.) Maybe 10% or so, or a third of the ones that were happy with it, said they were really happy with it. I found myself a bit skeptical of these comments, wondering if they were legit. But maybe they were.

C0nsidering that lazer tattoo removal can easily be $2000-$4000 or more, depending on several factors like tattoo age, color shade, size, type of ink and so forth, for many, using a tattoo removal cream like Wrecking Balm seems worth trying.

Keep in mind, the Wrecking Balm Tattoo cream removal kit is comprised of things you can get at a drug store- for a lot cheaper. (the main ingredient in theirtattoo removal cream is 1% hydroquinone, a skin whitener. Care must be taken in using it, as it can irritate or even scar the skin).

do tattoo removal creams actually work?
i’m thinking about getting a tattoo but want to weigh my options for after when/if i want to remove it. i’ve been reading that there are removal/fading creams that act as chemical peels, but do these really work? has anyone tried them?

    • chastityc says:

I would suggest that you do not waist your money on the stuff. They do not work like they say they do. I will give them the credit of lightening a tat but not removing a tat. I do not know this from my own experience but a few of my cousins have used it and all it did was barely lighten it up. They only used it for six months and then they quit. So if you want to use it go ahead.

  23. Hey says:

Skin fading cream, does it actually work on freckles?
I just bought John plunketts super fade cream from the chemist…I have some already really light freckles on my arms and want to lighten them to the point where they are the same colour as my skin…Will this stuff work, or is it stupid stuff that doesnt work like most things out there?

What is the best fading cream for brown spots?
I used to use a razor for my bikini area during the summertime, which used to leave razor bumps that are now just scars (brown spots). I have tried various fading creams, oils that are supposedly going to even out skin tone,& i even tried cocoa butter soap and lotion. What fading cream would be best to have those faded out before the summer arrives?

  25. debbiesage says:

Do tatoo fading creams really work?

    • Kid with a face says:

They fade them a little but it will always clearly be there. Tattoos are for life and the only way to get them to go away completely is to spend tens of thousands of dollars getting them professionally removed, and even then it doesn’t ever completely go away.

  26. Sarah M says:

How do you apple scar fading cream?
this is a general question for all those creams that fade scars. do you rub in the cream onto the scar or do you just like put a layer on top of it and just leave it there? which one is more effective? also. when u apply the cream, do u have to ONLY SPECIFICALLY get it on the scar or is it okay if it goes out of the scar sometimes? cuz i think that if u go out of the scar’s borders it will lighten your regular skin coloR

  27. ykmc3c says:

What are some good face even toners and/or fading creams?

    • sephoragirl says:

Any product containing hydroquinone is the most effective for skin lightening. You can get it over the counter at 2% or by prescription at 4%. You can not use it if you are pregnant, breast feeding or if you have liver problems. Murad, Peter Thomas Roth, and DDF all make products with this ingredient. If you want to go more holistic look for products with kojic acid, mulberry and bilberry extracts, and vitamin c. PTR and DDF both carry holistic alternatives. Caudalie also has a product called Vinoperfect that will help even out your complexion with natural ingredients. Sephora carries all these products.

    stretch mark fading creams ?
so i have stretch marks on my thighs, hips, and breasts. and i read that pro-vitamin B, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Vitamin A and Aloe Vera Extract are ingredients to look for in a cream to fade stretch marks. i don’t want to spend like loads of money on a cream that may not work. (hopefully it does though) i know the cream works with time and scars fade in time too. but i want to try to get them to fade. i was wondering if anyone knows any creams with these ingredients?

    • Boshena says:

Baiden Mitten followed by bio oil works really fast. When you use Baiden Mitten the first time your stretch marks can get red and angry, but that just means that the natural body repairning mechanism came into action and it is actually a really good sign. Within a day they should go white, especially if you apply Bio Oil on them and then next time you use Baiden Mitten there is less and less of this reaction and your scars just get thinner and thinner until they don’t really bother you any more.
It is actually possible to get rid of some of them alltogether, but it might take months or even years.
However within first 3 weeks the difference can be really dramatic but the second stage will take longer.

My 7 year old daughter has a brown birthmark on her neck ,is there any safe fading creams out there .?

    • Ian C says:

      good question….

anyways, when you say birthmark it means its genetic.. its not temporary, it runs in the blood…

you can have some minor surgery but no fading creams can erase the mark…

on the book i have read recently, if you like for example get rid of it by use of creams it will somehow be gone but in just a matter of months it will start to be visible again and might change in shape… maybe larger than compared to before…

if you do surgery, you might remove it in the neck but in just a matter of years the spot will return and start to appear, the sad part is it can re appear anywhere… it might appear at the back.. whats worse is that it may appear on the face…

dont worry shes still young… 7 is sooo early for surgery or creams, remember kids have sensetive skin… the best thing to do is just wait till she grows up…. as she grows up the skin will start to stretch and normaly the spot will look faded….

thank you and i hope i give you an idea…

    • Mari C says:

      No, they don’t work.
You want to get rid of it, be willing to fork up some money for laser removal that is painful and doesn’t always remove the tattoo 100%.

  33. A.J.14 says:

Would fading creams that are used for brown spots, ect. work on freckles?
I have freckles on my arms and I want them gone! They bug me so bad I was wondering if anyone had a solution on fading or lighting them?

    • kaynoxdemon says:

I’m a beauty therapist and only know of one way of removing freckles and that is by using laser (IPL, VPL, SPL etc.) this is a pigment remover (it is also a permanent hair removal system) that works on the pigment in the skin by heating up the cells and killing them off. The only down side is the cost and that it doesn’t always work and can also make your freckles worse
But I think that freckles are beautiful; don’t get me wrong when I was in my teens I hated mine but now (23 years old) I have grown to love them, I hope you will be able to also.
      Hope this helps you 😉

  36. ShayG says:

are there any fading creams for spots on the back?

    • Carina says:

If you mean to improve the appearence of scars then Bio-Oil is what you need.
Bio-Oil helps improve the appearance of all scar types. Bio-Oil is also highly effective in helping to maintain the elasticity of scar tissue on joints and other high-mobility areas
Bio-Oil should be massaged in a circular motion into the scar and surrounding skin twice daily for a minimum of 3 months. Younger scars have a greater chance of improvement within a shorter time period, however scars that are older will also benefit from the regular use of Bio-Oil. On new scars, Bio-Oil should be applied only once the wound has healed and should never be used on broken skin

Have any african american had success fading spots on the legs caused by mosquito bites?
I have been to the dermatalogists and had at least 4 microdermabrasion and 4 chemical peels along with prescription fade creams and nothing seems to work. Please share your experiences if you have had any success fading these kinds of marks on the legs.

    • Lynn says:

Ok. STOP all of the chemical peels, microdermabrasions, etc….. Many of those processes do not have the same effects on African-American skin and not nearly as much research has been done.
With that said, I suggest using cocoa butter. You can get a stick of 100% pure cocoa butter for $1 at Wal-Mart. Rub it on sores or bites as soon as you get them. Do this a few times a day. If you do this, it shouldn’t leave a dark mark.

There were totally 15 moles / black spots on my face and body before, I tried this mole remover and most of my moles were gone right now. But please pay attention, don’t over use in order to avoid getting scar. Hope it works for you too.

For more information, please see the following using methods, it is very useful for unwanted moles, beauty marks, black spots.

10 ML Skin Care non-Laser Removal

      (1) Clean the nevus and the area around it, use a toothpick (do not use a cotton stick to tip or wipe) to mix the liquid and sediment, and then tip a little amount of the mole remover and apply it onto the middle of the nevus. The area would turn to white colour after 1 minute. Use alcohol or water to clean the mole area after 10 minutes (If you tip the amount of mole remover properly, you don’t have to clean). The mole would peel off (May help with finger) in 8 to 20 days. Repeat the process again until the mole peeling off if the colour of the nevus is dark. (it is suggested applying the liquid to nevus on hands or legs first to see the results and learn to control the usage before applying the liquid to other areas of the body, DON’T TRY on FACE for the first time!)

Any skin-lightening products containing hydroquinone would be considered new drugs, according to the proposed FDA regulations. The products would require FDA approval before being sold to the public and would only be available with a doctor’s prescription.

Save your $$$$. that’s another propaganda to make more profits. The beauty industry is a billion dollar business, and there’s more & more products like that because it attracts new customers, because NOW suddenly people are waking up . . . the sun is more damaging than ever, but the damaged is done, so they’re looking for miracles to make them pure & blemish free forever. The only best product you’ll need that really works is a wide brim hat.

I’ve been protecting myself from sun exposure since age 9, with that said I still got Discoid Lupus, Google it, and it is taking 12 years to make that fade away. The secret is to avoid the sun, to get whiter skin the younger you are the better for you in the long run.

Traditionally in Western cosmetics Buttermilk has been applied and left on overnight to bleach the skin. (Works but does/will take a long time – three months of nightly bleaching). Mashed strawberries as a mask also are said to bleach the complexion.

Yoghurt is the favourite choice in the Middle East. Same application process as the Buttermilk.

(These are mild alphahydroxies that will gently and slowly remove dead cells and correct damaged cells beneath the surface).

Hydroquinine is the bleach most commonly used but really really yucky stuff and I’d recommend you avoid it. Medical evidence suggests that the stuff does vile liver damage! (Sort of like the lead make-up worn by various cultures since man stood-up on his feet!) NB check ingredients and avoid anything with mercury in it – a big selling point in Malaysian bleaching products market, right now.

The Japanese cosmetic firms are the biggest suppliers and researchers into this area – been doing it for DECADES and thus the most reliable. BUT CHECK THE INGREDIENTS BEFORE YOU APPLY!

Sheishedo was highly mentioned in a recent article I read on sun damage & skin/repair care. Dermalogica also has some bleaching products, Decleor too offers a product to lighten the complexion. But these products are expensive £28-35 plus per item. But they work.

In the States you can get Aqua-Glycolic which is reasonable in price, $9 to $10 bucks each. Lasts a good while too. Major drug Stores. They gave me this link to buy there product if you can’t get to the big stores. Now Aqua-Glycolic will slowly fade dis-colourations on the skin over a period of time.

Retin A will also fade more agressive “spots” but you will need a perscription.

3% Hydrogen Peroxide swabbed on at night and in the morning under your moisturiser will bleach a little too. Not a grand skin tonic but generally works. (Tingles until you get used to it and don’t use higher numbers!)

This process is going to take you a good fair while since it depends on the spots and how dark/long you’ve had them. Bank on a minimum of four months to a year of intensive treatment application going this route.
