More often than not, your eyes are the first things that people will notice whenever there are changes in your appearance. Your weight may even escape remarks from other people, except of course for friends of yours who have not seen you for a long while. Anyway, the reason why your eyes will always be dead giveaways about how you live your life is the fact that the skin around your eyes is extremely delicate and thin; hence, it is more sensitive to even the slightest changes in your body.

While it is correct to say that much of what happens to the skin around your eye area are influenced by your heredity and the overall effects of aging, your lifestyle also plays a pivotal role in the maintenance of the suppleness or the degradation and deformity of the skin around your eyes. The effects of your way of life to your eye area can be more evident as you grow older; because when you age, your body's capacity to produce collagen which is needed for the skin's sustenance dramatically decreases.

Today's environment is not that helpful either. The polluted surroundings and the thinning ozone layer contribute to the worsening of the skin on your eye area. Because of pollution, your skin becomes subjected to microscopic dirt and clogged pores, which can surely devastate the skin's ability to heal and nourish itself. The stronger ultraviolet rays from the sun, worsened by the vanishing ozone, can slowly burn your skin off on a cellular level and can even cause several skin diseases.

And talking about your job can make matters worse. All the stress that is thrust into you from your workplace can wreak havoc on your skin. If stress can cause wrinkles to appear on the thickest skin areas on your face, you can just imagine how much damage it can do to the skin on your eye area!

Indeed, the problems and damages that your skin has to endure should put importance on skin protection and other defensive measures that will effectively shield your skin from the factors mentioned above. Skin protection holds even more significance for your facial skin, particularly on your eye area; that is, if you do not want your face to appear droopy with eye bags or dark under-eye circles.

Protecting the skin on your eye area from harsh elements is not a walk in the park. The most accepted form of eye treatment comes in the form of creams which are supposed to be easy to apply. But even so, you will be faced with a wide array of eye cream choices. Eye treatment applications can now be obtained from beauty bars, drugstores, and via online stores. Convenient? Yes, but it can complicate your search for the eye product that will perfectly suit your skin.

Being the most sensitive part of your face, your skin around the eyes should be applied only with the safest and most effective treatment available. It should not matter if you have to spend a little bit more on finding the eye cream that matches your skin type; after all, attaining beautiful eyes will be enough to improve your appearance no matter how old or stressed you are. Always keep on the lookout for products like Eyederma, which can quickly reduce unsightly eye appearances without the stinging sensation.

After choosing the right eye treatment or protective cream, the next step that you must learn is how to apply your chosen eye product. The proper way of applying the cream, as described on the bottle label, will greatly improve the results.

Cold Cucumbers from the fridge. Slice them and put them on your eyes for about 10 minutes when you wake up in the morning.

If you must go with an over the counter product, Oil of Olay has these new revitalizing eye gel treatments for about $10.

    Carob Ice Cream

2 cups soymilk or nut milk
    1 cup well-drained silken tofu
    ½ cup carob powder
    ½ cup raisins
½ cup cashew butter or 10 tablespoons raw cashews
    ½ cup canola oil

    or rice syrup
    2 tablespoons lecithin granules
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
8 common spicebush berries or 1/2 teaspoon
    freshly ground allspice berries

    ½ teaspoon salt
    ¼ teaspoon freshly ground cloves
    1-teaspoon liquid stevia

    1. Place all the ingredients in a blender
    and process until smooth.
    2. Chill (or begin with chilled ingredients)
if required by your ice cream machine.
    3. Pour the mixture into the ice cream machine
and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    Makes 5 ½ cups.

    Non dairy Ice cream
    2 teaspoons kosher gelatin
    1/4 cup apple juice
    1/4 cup honey
    3-1/4 cups vanilla soy milk
    2 teaspoons vanilla

    1. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over apple juice. Let sit, stirring occasionally, until gelatin is dissolved and softened, about 10 minutes.

    2. In a medium saucepan, whisk together honey and 2 cups soy milk. Cook until just hot, stirring frequently; remove from heat. Add softened gelatin to hot milk mixture, stirring until gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in remaining soy milk and vanilla; let cool, cover, and refrigerate until very well-chilled.

    3. Spoon chilled mixture into the canister of an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's directions.

    Makes about 1 quart.

    Strawberry "Ice Cream"

This recipe is from The Pritikin Promise for Vegan Strawberry Icecream.

The recipe specifically mentions a "vitamix" machine, however if you don't have one than try making it in a regular blender… I don't know if it will work, but it is certainly worth a try. Another thought is to blend the stuff in its unfrozen state and then freeze it in your freezer… just remember to stir it every hour or so until its frozen. Substituting other frozen fruits should be just as easy… just have to adjust the sweetener.

    Serving Size: 3

2 cups brown rice — soft cooked
2 tablespoons apple juice, from frozen concentrate plus water to make
    1/2 cup
4 cups strawberries, frozen — unsweetened
few drops each of almond and vanilla extract

Process the rice and diluted juice in the Vita-Mix on high speed until very smooth; add the strawberries and flavorings and continue to process until the strawberries are worked into the mixture. Serve immediately

    eye cream….??
i am 20 years old and i have uneven eyecreases, like my left eye is droopy…my right eye is alright. so i bought this eye cream “loreal age perfect eye cream” for mature skin. I’m not sure if i would be considered mature skin? my left eye lid is droopy and i’m wondering if it would be ok for me to use these products even if im not that old? would it cause me more problems in the future?

It is a great thing to use anti’aging products on your skin even if you’re not in your 50s. i’m 24 and my skin looks better than it ever has before and I use an Anti-aging line. using it will helps you skin keep its luster as you age.

What is the best eye cream to prevent first signs of aging?
I am 27 and first crow feet as well as some mimic lines ( I have high cheekbones, and when I smile or laugh lines do appear around my eyes) are starting to appear under eyes area. I don’t want to overkill using serum creams and other heavy stuff, that is intended for aging sking. Regular eye cream doesn’t seem to work. I tried Neutrogena, natural appricot cream (better botanicals) and Aveeno eye brightening cream – didn’t see any difference. What ingredients should I look for? Is alpha-hydroxy for more mature skin? How about Q10 ingridient? Please help.

    Eye Cream?
i noticed last night that i have some wrinkles under my eyes and im only 15. they’re very small and you can only see them when i look very closeup inthe mirror. i have this skin kit that i use (https://www.arbonne.com/shop_online/showitem.asp?ProductId=725&menuId=142&withLinks=1) and theres some eye cream in it. i’ve used the cream about only 10 times and haven’t used it for about a couple months (i still regularly use the rest of the kit) i dont really know what it does, but if its for wrinkles, could it cause an opposite effect on my skin to wrinkle? i didnt notice any wrinkles before or shortly after i used the cream. did the cream cause this? or should i start using the eye cream again?

Everyone, sometimes even small children, have little horizontal creases under the eye. I think you are worrying needlessly. Just shield your eyes from the sun rays to prevent future, more age-related lines.

What is the best eye cream for sensitive eyes, with dark circles and wrinkles?
I’ve tried heaps of eye creams, and they all sting the area around my eyes. The skin is also flaky after I cleanse my skin, so is there a cream which can also hydrate my eyes heaps?

Kiehls Avocado Treatment!! i’m 28 and just heard about this stuff… it got some rave reviews at makeup alley, which is a makeup rating website that i love: http://makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemID=17934/Creamy_Eye_Treatment_with_Avocado/Kiehls/Treatments_(Eye)/

i just started using it about 3 weeks ago. i’m such a consumer, and TOUGH critic when it comes to products. i also have extremely sensitive skin: it is super dry/flaky in some areas (such as around the eyes) and oily/acne-prone in others. also, i am prone to eczema on my face.

this cream has done wonders for the skin of my eye area, and i haven’t experienced any of the irritation or burning i’ve felt with pretty much every other eye product. i’m smooth, soft, bright, and glowy. i’m hooked on this stuff. :D
